About Glenda Wright

Glenda Wright About the Artist

Glenda Wright was born in 1973 in Johannesburg, South Africa. She studied fine art at Joubert Art Tech. At top of her class in drawing, design and painting she featured and sold some of her work in an art gallery late in her final year of study. Glenda moved on to further her studies in Computer aided design and 3D animation, moving her career focus from fine art to the fast pace hi tech world. Her skills range from print advertising, Internet marketing, 3D animation and graphics, to software User Interface design. Her creative abilities combined with strong technical acumen and people skills allowed her to move quickly through her field as a creative, from Head Designer to Creative Director overseeing a small department of Animator’s, Graphic and Web Designers before immigrating to Atlanta Georgia in 2001.

In 2004 Glenda was diagnosed with cancer (Stage 1 Melanoma). By 2009 with three surgeries and various treatments the persistent disease had progressed to stage 4 and she was told she had less than nine months to live. Glenda’s uncompromising will to live coupled with a radical new treatment process at Cancer Center Treatment Centers of America saved her life and she is cancer free for 8 years.

Her passion for animals, especially horses has taken her as far away as Tulsa Oklahoma where she ran reserve and top 5 in clover leaf barrels, stake race and poles.

Despite the insurmountable medical challenges Glenda retained her legal status of an H1B work visa, attained her green card in 2008 and eventually realized her goal of becoming a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2014.

Glenda married David in 2016 and in 2018 left her executive position at the Coca-Cola Company in Atlanta. She and David moved with her two horses to a small farm in Ellijay where she currently pursues her passion for photography and art.

Glenda combines the technical and creative to produce hi contrast digital artwork she refers to as Photo stories. Her most recent collection was taken at “Old Car Cityâ€
